Five Burglary Suspects Taken Into Custody After LAPD Pursuit Ends in Koreatown

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Five suspected burglars were taken into custody Friday night after a vehicle pursuit ended in Koreatown and prompted an extensive Los Angeles Police Department search of the surrounding neighborhood.

The pursuit ended near West Second Street and South Kenmore Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m. on July 10, 2026. The occupants reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot into the residential neighborhood.

Residents in the 100 block of South Kenmore Avenue called authorities after reportedly seeing at least one of the suspects entering or hiding in the yards of nearby homes.

LAPD officers established a perimeter along Second Street between Kenmore Avenue and Catalina Street. Additional officers focused their search near Second Street and Catalina Street, where the remaining suspects were believed to be hiding.

An LAPD helicopter circled above the neighborhood while officers and police K-9 teams searched yards and other areas within the perimeter. Police activity temporarily restricted access to several residential streets as officers worked to locate the suspects.

Three suspects were taken into custody during the initial response. Two others remained outstanding as officers continued searching the neighborhood.

Both remaining suspects were eventually located and apprehended. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and transported one of the suspects who was injured to a hospital for treatment. The extent of the suspect’s injuries was not immediately available.

All five suspects were ultimately in custody, bringing the neighborhood search to an end.

Authorities had not released the suspects’ names, ages or anticipated charges as of the initial reporting. Information about the burglary that preceded the pursuit, including where it occurred and what may have been taken, was also not immediately available.
